Posterior Hip Injection

Posterior Hip Injection

The Posterior Hip Injection is recommended when lingering pain is isolated specifically to that region. This may occur after you have injected the Anterior Hip.
Giving this injection is recommended for the very experienced injector, or under ultrasound guidance. There is a significant risk of encountering the sciatic nerve during injection if you are positioned wrong.
Of note, this injection on palpation appears to be fairly superficial. It is not! Dr. Harper uses a 25g x 3 1/2” spinal needle even on a thin person. It is also not recommended for
larger people as you just will not be able to access that posterior hip.
